Guidelines to Follow while making Comments

Net Detectors moderates and manages the comments you make on our websites and where possible on our social media feeds. By using Net Detectors technology we ask that you follow some common sense rules of civility and reasonable usage expectations. Civility and reasonable usage expectations compose part of our Terms of Service. By not following the Terms of Service we will react in an appropriate manner, such as blocking or removing a comment or discussion, or resetting a profile, or banning an account or refusing to do business with the violator.

Explicitly, the following is a list of activity not allowed anywhere on Net Detectors:

Targeted harassment or encouraging others to do so – Hate speech and other forms of targeted and systematic harassment of people have no place on Net Detectors, nor do we tolerate communities dedicated to fostering harassing behaviour.

Spam – Examples include comments posted in large quantities to promote a product or service, or the exact same comment posted repeatedly or the exact comment following users multiple times

Impersonation – You may not impersonate others in a manner that does or is intended to mislead, confuse, or deceive others.

The direct threat of harm – This covers active threats of harm directed towards a specific person or defined group of individuals. Contact local authorities if you feel a crime has been committed or is imminent.

Posting personally identifiable information – Examples of protected information: credit card number, home address, work address, phone numbers, email address, social security number. You may use your real name and discuss where you live in a general manner.

Inappropriate content – Graphic media containing violence and pornographic content are not allowed.
